Larry Knapp is certified as a Master in Leave No Trace by the National Outdoor Leadership School. All of our horseback trips emphasize minimal impact outdoor skills and back country ethics. Yosemite Trails is licensed to take you into the surrounding back country to hike, ride, fish, sightsee or just plain relax. Our horses are big and strong, bred to ride in the mountains. They easily carry you and your gear, getting you to your destination, comfortably and safely. The backcountry pack trips we offer fall into one of three categories. The Deluxe If you are the kind of person that wants to experience Yosemite's backcountry first class or be treated to luxury in the Sierra National Forest, this is the choice for you. All you need to bring is a sleeping bag, a few changes of cloths and a tooth brush. We will take care of the rest.

The Traveler This pack trip is great for those people that would like to see as much of the Yosemite's backcountry as they can. With this type of trip the packer and the stock will stay at camp so you have the option of taking day rides to secret locations or to move camp all together.

The Spotter This trip is perfect for those people that have all their own gear and the experience to camp in the wilderness. We simply transport you and your supplies into Yosemite's backcountry and drop you off at a mutually agreed location. Then on a pre designated date we come back in, pack up your camp and trail you out.
