Sierra National Forest - Pack Trip Camping Destinations
Iron Lakes: Elevation - 7600 ft Riding time from Yosemite Trail Pack Station - 5.5 to 6 hours. Generally a two day trip, with the first night spent at Silver Strike Meadow. Limited camping spots, medium use July & Aug. This is a complex of two lakes. The north lake is a much nicer place to camp. It has a small island that sits out in the water which make a great place to swim from.

Silver Strike Meadow: Elevation - 7100 ft.
Riding time from Yosemite Trail Pack Station - 3 to 3.5 hours.
Limited camping spots, low use July & Aug. Silver Strike is located at the foot of Mount Raymond and the camp dates back to the early days of hard rock mining in the Sierras. Log cabins still stand as testament to the tremendous effort put forth by the men who worked the mines. The meadow is filled with an assortment of beautiful wild flowers.

  Merced River, South Fork: Elevation - 6000 ft
Riding time from Yosemite Trail Pack Station - 6 to 6.5 hours.
Generally a two day trip, with the first night spent at Silver Strike Meadow.
Limited camping spots, low use July & Aug.
This is a very secluded camp with great fishing!
